In Search of A Clearer Truth

Here in the shadows of the Wasatch it is time for those of us who attempt to follow the teaching of the Prophets of the Latter-Days to sit and listen as we are expounded to by the erstwhile good leaders of Zion.

Yet as I sit on my uncomfortable pew and listen the thoughts wander into my mind as to the total veracity of the speaker on the large screen at the front of the chapel. (For those of you untrained in Mormon Conference Rigors, the peasantry who live in the valley of the Salton Sea must gather in the local meeting houses to watch satellite projection TV and make way for the elite, rich tourista at the downtown centers!)

Thus my overly plump rump is on the hard bench at the local Stake Center with all the other unworthies listening to all the sage pronouncements from the immeadiate vicinity of Temple Square. Yet in my mind is the question that has been running for some months. Do I dare go to my Bishop and begin to question the business dealing of the multi-billion dollar organization in whose chapel my tookus is now residing or will that commence the Latter-Day Inquisition?

My concerns, dare it be said is over the stock manipulations used to acquire a certain book company late last year and the associated cover up. All employees were retained and no stores were closed in the take over. It was very quickly folded into the Church publishing fold and everyone made as happy as possible to keep them quiet.

At least that is the way it seems to this outsider. First the Church pulls books from the shelves of this discount seller and not from other discounters. Then shortly thereafter, a suprise offer is made to purchase the company after the stock has tumbled in price. Is it not astounding that none of the local or national media even noticed the event?

Not even the Mitt Romney watchers saw it! What a field day it could have made for them! Mormons in possible SEC scandal! Romney's Church under a cloud? All of this is only speculation and must be proven or disproven by investigation of the authorities of law. Yet the the suspicion is there and it should be investigated to clear the air before the stench arises to taint the picnic grounds and ruin the summer for all of us.

Let me change the subject and run for cover before the Thunderstorm arrives. I have no proof, all I have is questions!! I am more than willing to apologize if wrong!

That said,the appearance of evil should be avoided and the air cleared for all. The taint should be done away and the gleam of goodness restored to the name of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Olympics was bad enough with hints of under handed dealings and bribes and the like. Just because it is and was done every where else is not an excuse.

The standards here are higher.

Why? Because I live here and my standards are higher! If that is not good enough for you go talk to your Mother and have her explain it to you. ( The real reason is this is ZION and the Lord expects more of His people.){Go to LDS.org and do your research and if that does not satisfy you write to the oldcountryboy here on this blog and he will do his best to explain it to you in words of one syllable, ok?}

((It is the right thing to do.))
